Schedule a Visit
PLEASE SEE POLICIES BEFORE SCHEDULING A VISIT

The Institute is open for individuals and visiting groups Tuesday-Friday, 9AM-4PM. Free science lessons are available for groups of ten or more. Reservations are required for all organized groups.

It is best to call at least four weeks in advance to schedule a field trip. You may schedule up to three visits in one semester.

Maximum Group Size: Maximum group size is 60 students for grade 2nd and above, and 30 students for 1st grade and below.

Length of Visit:  Visits for older groups last one and one-half hours. Younger groups can expect to visit for one hour.

Chaperones: Please bring at least one adult chaperone for every 5 children under the age of eight and one adult chaperone for every 10 children eight years of age and older.

Museum Shop: While the museum shop is closed to our field trip groups, grab bags are available. Grab bags contain a variety of fun and educational science-related souvenirs and MUST BE ORDERED IN ADVANCE!

Cost: All of our programs are free, although donations are encouraged. Recommended donations are $3 per child for a sixty-minute lesson and $5 per child for a ninety-minute lesson. These amounts are suggestions -- any contribution your group can offer will make a difference.
