BATS, MYTH, and REALITY:
A Spooky Creature Feature

Hands-on activities from 12 to 4
The talk will be sign language interpreted
This interactive program for young and old alike will dispel the myths that have plagued bats for centuries. Using real props, many found in the wild, and actual bat skeletons, guest speaker Brenda Malinics will use her 20 years experience working with bats to transform the audience into bat advocates. She will share bat realities and emphasize the importance of these nocturnal vacuum cleaners of the sky.
COME IN COSTUME!

Brenda holds a Bat Management Certificate from Bat Conservation International and the Pennsylvania Game Commission as well as a Wildlife Control Permit from the PA Game Commission.
For the past two decades Brenda Malinics has been involved in environmental and animal-related activities. She is well-known in the Philadelphia area as "The Bat Lady" through her educational outreach programs. She has twice attended "bat boot camp" at Bat World Sanctuary in Texas and has raised and cared for hundreds of bats.
Brenda's presentation will be given in the historic lecture hall at 1:00 PM
Scavenger hunts, crafts, and other activities will take place in the museum.
Museum is open from 12:00 - 4:00 PM
The collections may be viewed without attending the talk.
