This course requires preregistration and is limited to 12 students.  Students who have not previously taken the class will have first preference.  Preregistration will begin on Monday, November 12, 2007.  To preregister, call (215) 763-6529, ext. 23.

This class will focus on songbirds, the largest and most diverse clade of modern birds.  Each week we will discuss a series of Passeriform families working almost exclusively from the Academy's world-class bird collection.  For each bird family, we will discuss the key morphological characters diagnostic to each major lineage.
