The United Nations has declared 2011 the International Year of Forests
to raise awareness about the importance of forests.
Learn all about the different types of forests and what they have in common as the Wagner celebrates forests on Saturday, September 24. Discover some of the many plants and animals that live in forests and why forests are something we can't live without. Find out what is happening to forests and how you can help protect these special resources.
The program will include an interactive lesson with natural history specimens to observe and touch at 1:00PM in the lecture hall and a special forest-themed scavenger hunt and other activities in the museum.
