Programs for Home Schooled Children
The Institute is pleased to offer free science lessons for children, ages 6+, who are home schooled or in groups of fewer than 10 children. Reservations are required - instructions below. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
These programs consist of an interactive, hands-on lesson with natural history specimens followed by a scavenger hunt in the museum gallery.

Adams, H.G. Humming Birds: Described and Illustrated. London : 1856.
From nests and beaks to feathers and feet, this lesson explores the features and behaviors that make birds so unique. Weather permitting, this program will include the opportunity to participate in Cornell University’s Celebrate Urban Birds citizen science project.
This program is FREE but reservations are required. Space is limited.
