This lesson is geared towards children ages 9+.
All forests are dominated by trees, but there are many different types of forests in different types of climates around the world. Find out what makes trees so special and how examining the cross-section of a tree can tell its story. Discover some of the many plants and animals that live in forests and how they each make the forest ecosystem their home. Learn why forests are something we can't live without and how you can help protect these special resources. Weather permitting, we will use a dichotomous key to identify the trees in the Wagner's yard.
Cost: Museum admission and programs are FREE, but donations are appreciated. A donation of $8 per adult and $5 per child is suggested, but any contribution will make a difference.
