Thursday, June 6th

5:30 to 8:30 PM

at the

Wagner Free Institute of Science

in honor of

Robert McCracken Peck,

author, naturalist, historian of science, and Senior Fellow at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University

Join us for a glorious evening at the Wagner!

Mingle with fellow supporters (and specimens) in our breathtaking Victorian museum, stroll through our early summer garden, try your luck at our prize drawing, and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and signature cocktails.

Robert McCracken Peck is a modern-day embodiment of the 19th century naturalist. A fearless explorer with a tent, a notebook, and a sharp eye for detail, Mr. Peck chronicles his field expeditions and his findings in sensitively-written books aimed at the general public. As Senior Fellow at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, he has participated in scientific expeditions to South America, Africa, and Asia, and he publishes widely on the histories of science and exploration. Unifying his life’s work is a sense of wonder—a conviction that we have much to gain, and to appreciate, by studying the natural world around us. It’s the same sentiment that motivated William Wagner to found the Institute in 1855, and it’s what still drives our work today.

Join us as we celebrate Mr. Peck for showcasing the glories of nature and scientific discovery!

Sponsor this year's party, and you'll directly support free programs that engage children and adults in science and nature, and also contribute to the preservation of our Landmark building and collections. You'll be prominently recognized at the event and in all promotional materials. You'll also receive an array of benefits, including party tickets, limited edition prints inspired by the Wagner, and a signed copy of A Glorious Enterprise.

Purchase tickets for a special evening with Robert McCracken Peck. We offer special rates for Wagner members and guests aged 30 and under.
